We are here for you as much as we are for your children. By working together in partnership, we can ensure that every young person not only achieves academically but also develops the skills and confidence they need to thrive in life.Wightwick Hall is a school built on care, respect, and aspiration. I am excited to work alongside you all as we continue to develop a safe, nurturing, and ambitious environment where every student can flourish and feel proud of who they are.If you would like to organise a meeting with me, which I both encourage and warmly welcome, please email my PA on j.haynes@wightwickhall.staffs.sch.uk.Thank you for being part of our journey – I look forward to the year ahead.Mr. Alex SteerHeadteacherWightwick Hall School

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Award is offered to students from Year 10 onwards and is a voluntary activity. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is world recognised for its high standard and level of training needed to achieve each level. The programmes are at three progressive levels which, if successfully completed, lead to a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. The Award is delivered and supported by Wightwick Hall School and the dedicated staff and leaders, but it remains the student's own award.
House Groups
At Wightwick Hall School the house system is designed to give students a strong sense of responsibility and belonging. As a school we believe that all students should understand the power of team work which we achieve through the house team system as it develops opportunities for year groups to work together, encourages students to support each other, increases community spirit and gives all students a sense of pride all whilst providing students with a range of additional activities to take part in. The house system also boosts the existing rewards system and encourages more students to get involved in competitions whilst developing leadership opportunities.
Student Council
The following were democratically elected to represent the student body. They will obtain feedback from their house, form or year group and present to the student council these concerns or views. The remit of the council is dependent on the views of the student body as a whole and these will then be presented to the Senior Leadership Team in order that leaners views are taken into account when formulating wider policies or strategies. The council will meet on a fortnightly basis and can also request an extraordinary meeting if the need arises. The council will focus and prioritise one main item per term.
