Welcome to Solihull Sixth Form College
Welcome to Solihull Sixth Form CollegeSolihull Sixth Form College is an aspirational college for young people, which inspires learners to reach new heights. We offer a wide range of subjects to study at A level, BTEC and T level, as well as a superb programme of enrichment options. We have a proven track record of helping our learners achieve high grades and positive onward progression. In 2024, the College was graded a 'Good' college following an inspection by Ofsted. Inspectors praised the College for ongoing improvements and declared that “teachers are well-qualified and experienced in the subjects they teach" and that “learners enjoy their learning". Ofsted’s appraisal of the College has been reinforced by the results that learners achieved in 2024. There were 1,218 A*/A and Distinction*/Distinction grades in our A level, BTEC and CACHE Childcare courses. The pass rate at A level was 98%, with 75% A* - C grades. At BTEC, the pass rate was 99.9% and 97% achieved high grades (Merit and above), while all Childcare students got top grades. Solihull Sixth Form College has recently expanded its facilities with the opening of a brand-new building. The Turvey building opened in November 2024, providing the Psychology department at the College with eight new modern and spacious classrooms. This net-zero construction was built thanks to a £2,072,512 grant from the Department of Education and a £692,000 investment from the Summit Learning Trust. As well as exemplary teaching, we also offer excellent pastoral support from our students, including an academic coaching programme, careers guidance and additional learning support and assistance with mental health and wellbeing. We also offer a fantastic programme of financial support for learners to ensure that every student can benefit from out superb provision. We are proud members of the Summit Learning Trust. Don’t just take my word for it. Come along to an Open Day and see for yourself. I look forward to seeing you soon.Martin SullivanPrincipal

Rohan came to the college from Langley School. After achieving straight A* grades in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Further Maths, he earned a place at the University of Oxford to study Engineering. While at the college, Rohan benefited from the Stretch & Challenge programme, which provided him and other high achieving students with the opportunity to think beyond the syllabus. In addition, teacher-led support in preparing for university admissions tests and mock interviews ensured Rohan and other ambitious learners were ready for the challenge of an Oxbridge application.
