At the moment I work full time as a First Officer for a UK based Charter Airline, operating the Boeing 737 My work base is located at London Gatwick Airport, from where I fly all over Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Sometimes I’m deployed away from base and tasked with flying to various destinations around the world. Recently, I’ve flown to Antarctica, the Pacific Islands, and more. I also work part time as an air traffic controller at a private airport in North London. Based in a control tower, I’m responsible for all aircraft movements in and around the airport. This job is super fun, although it can be challenging at times.
Enrichment Activities
Show all activitiesFrom trips to Paris for Art, Berlin for Politics or NYC for Sociology – we have an extensive calendar of subject-based trips that will give you unique opportunities to apply your knowledge in real-world settings. Whether you’re exploring historical landmarks, conducting environmental research, or engaging with industry professionals, here is a taster of what experiences you can expect at Esher to enrich your education, broaden your horizons, and create unforgettable memories.
These short courses are a great opportunity to explore new activities in a range of different subject areas, giving you a chance to learn something new or get better at an activity you are already enjoying. They are also an excellent way to develop wider skills and abilities such as team-working, problem-solving, creativity, critical thinking and the capacity to conduct independent research, all of which are greatly valued by both universities and employers.
You can either do one long course or two short courses in your first year. Some of our courses such as membership of a sports team or Duke of Edinburgh are considered ‘long courses’ and will last up until Easter. If you choose a short course, these only last one term and you will need to choose another short course at changeover time in January, which you will follow until Easter.
