Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
We pride ourselves on the number of extra- and super-curricular activities that we offer our Sixth Form students. Super-curricular activities give our students the opportunity to take the subjects they study further, beyond their classroom-based learning. These activities are driven by curriculum areas and are increasingly important when applying for university places and higher-level apprenticeships. Extra-curricular activities are equally as important as they help develop transferable skills and life experience that can help to make a student more interesting. We offer a range of extra-curricular activities over-arched by our STEP Award. These include the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Duke of Edinburgh Award, World Challenge, Student Leadership, High Flyers programme, Student Ambassadors, Reading Buddies, school production and employment in our Cafe, to name a few. The Sixth Form Senior Student Leadership Team is instrumental in organising fundraising initiatives throughout the school year to raise money for nominated charities. Our Sixth Formers play a vital part in school life as role models and leaders across their subject area and beyond. We give them the support they need to achieve beyond their expected levels, whether as a leader, a team player, a sports person, a performer or wherever their talents lie.

STEP Award Programme
Our STEP Award Programme is designed to maximise a student’s extra- and super-curricular opportunities through the course of Year 12 and Year 13. Completion of the programme will ensure that a student has the necessary skills to achieve success with their university, apprenticeship or workplace aspirations, as well as enabling them the opportunity to develop those transferable skills needed for success in their wider lives.
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
An EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) is a sixth-form qualification that involves students choosing a topic, carrying out research, creating a report (or ‘product’ and report) and delivering a presentation.
