University

Since leaving UTC with a BTEC, I started my degree at Plymouth University studying Digital Media Design. I’ve finished my second year and now I’m on a 15 month internship. I will finish my final year after my contract ends - I’m hoping (and almost guaranteed) to get offered a place after I get my degree at the end of my final year. My internship is at Positive Purchasing as their Junior Web Developer - it’s an amazing company and I’m very happy. In the next five years I’m hoping to work my way towards becoming a Full Stack Web Developer and become confident in back-end web development.

Apprenticeship

So far I’m halfway through my second year as a fabrication apprentice at Babcock International. I’ve completed different placements throughout the dockyard undertaking different forms of fabrication, such as outfitting and general factory work making parts for projects. I am currently in the factory completing pattern development for my apprenticeship qualification while also completing jobs on the side for projects. In the next 5 years I would’ve finished my apprenticeship and I am possibly going to then move onto the higher apprenticeship and get into Non Destructive Testing to work my way up the ladder. My main personal aim in 5 years would be to have my own house.

Apprenticeship

I’m currently a second year apprentice at Princess Yachts. I’m a marine engineer apprentice at south yard where the X95 yachts are manufactured. In the Next five years I would have hoped to have finished my apprenticeship and I would love to go travelling and see some of the world. I’m happy to talk to students and be featured on the website/social media.
