Welcome to Chancellor's School

Welcome to Chancellor’s School Sixth Form where we aim to provide an excellent educational experience. We warmly welcome applications from both internal and external candidates to our Sixth Form.

Everything that we do is designed to provide Sixth Formers with the best opportunity to achieve their goals, aspirations, and prepare them for both a professional world and as an individual with a sense of character and purpose. We embrace inclusiveness; central to our ethos is ensuring that all young people can succeed and thrive whilst being in safe and supportive environment.

Selecting where to study at Post-16 is an important decision and we hope the information on these pages helps you in making a successful choice. We believe in high academic standards alongside a caring and inclusive environment. The modern world is highly competitive and we equip our sixth formers with the skills, self-confidence and courage needed to move on to higher education, apprenticeship or employment.

Our Sixth Form is growing year on year and consists of eleven tutor groups for each year. It ensures that our young adults are given the opportunities and experiences to develop and prepare for their next stage, the wider world and rest of their lives. Our highly experienced tutors work closely with their tutees via daily meetings and one to one tutorials ensuring students emotional support and academic guidance are both rigorous and personalised. This system produces highly successful results and places Chancellor’s for the third consecutive year in the top 20% of schools nationally and in the top 5 Hertfordshire state schools for progress made.

Over 80% of our Sixth Form students’ progress to university or apprenticeships and we place the highest emphasis on ensuring our students are fully equipped for their chosen future pathway whatever this may be. Our extensive careers and guidance program, including work experience, university visits, conferences and key interest seminars provides students with the knowledge equally to make successful applications to employment and further education. We are proud of the hard work that our students put into their studies but equally their involvement in enrichment activities, volunteering and community involvement, and the fact they are role models to our younger students.

Responsibility and self-regulation underpin all we do in our Sixth Form and our large team of student leaders, led by our Sixth Form Prefect Team, run committees and social events, provide buddies for new Year 7 students, organise day teams, assist at school functions, mentor peers and younger students as well as lead fundraising activities and charity events. We encourage all students to fully immerse themselves in the Sixth Form experience, as the opportunities for life skills complement the educational experiences gained in their time at our school.

From our curriculum, to our enrichment programme, to our wider support and provision, we put the student at the centre of what we do; developing responsible, well-rounded adults who are prepared for the rest of the lives.

We see our Sixth Form as a team where staff and students work closely together to ensure successful outcomes. If you feel, having looked through our Sixth Form pages you would like to be part of that team, please fill in your application form and start the process.
