Welcome Message

We are delighted that you have chosen to join Byron Sixth Form at St Bede’s Catholic School. This handbook is designed to help guide you through Sixth Form life and all that goes with it – the short time you are with us will pass quickly, and this is a guide to getting started, and where to seek support, help and guidance when needed.

Firstly, the basics…

The Sixth Form Team

The Sixth Form Team can usually be found in the Sixth Form Office or in their subject areas teaching, and consist of Assistant Head: Sixth Form (Mrs Robinson), Year 12 and Year 13 Tutors, Ambitions Coordinator, and Independent Careers Adviser. Mrs Balls, our Chaplain, isn’t directly part of the Sixth Form team but is also available for care and support as needed.

Other Sixth Form Staff

Far too many to mention but you will also be supported by your teachers, our IT Manager, Mrs Cessford (Headteacher), Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteacher, reception, the catering team, the site team and loads more!

Make the most of this thriving community! We wish you every success on the next stage of your academic career and look forward to celebrating your achievements attained through shared commitment and perseverance.

Regards

Mrs Robinson

We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and opportunities for personal development at lunch-time and after school for our students to develop their talents or to try something new. To recognise and celebrate involvement in extra-curricular life, we have launched our Faith Award, whereby Key Stage 3 students work towards a bronze, silver, gold and platinum award. As part of our Faith Award, students earn badges to wear on their blazers that reflect how many extra-curricular clubs or other opportunities they have attended each half term. Please see our extra-curricular timetable below for our current clubs offered.
