Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
Enrichment means providing pupils with a range of opportunities in addition to the classroom-based curriculum offer. Enrichment activities offer children and young people the chance to engage in experiences beyond the standard curriculum, helping them discover new interests, broaden their perspectives, and develop a diverse range of skills. These opportunities play a vital role in fostering creativity, building confidence, and preparing students for future challenges.

PE

At Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy, Physical Education (PE) plays a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of our students. We deliver an inclusive, engaging, and well-rounded programme that caters to the diverse needs of all our pupils.

Computing

At Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy, Computing is designed to support the individual needs of our pupils in a calm, structured, and engaging environment. Students develop important digital skills through hands-on activities using computers, tablets, VR headsets and other technology.

Celebration Squad

Our Celebration Squad is a fun and inclusive group that helps make each half-term special for both pupils and staff. Bringing our OKQA community together through meaningful, inclusive celebrations held each half-term. These events are designed to recognise and enjoy a wide range of cultural, religious, and seasonal occasions — including Eid, World Book Day, International day and our OKQA Summer Carnival. Each celebration is also planned to reflect the rich diversity of our pupils and staff, offering a joyful and respectful space to explore traditions, beliefs, different foods and traditional clothing from around the world.

Work Experience

At Ormiston Kensington Queensmill Academy, we offer a structured and inclusive work experience programme tailored to our learners. Starting from Key Stage 3 and continuing through to Post-16, students take part in both in-house and community-based placements that help them build key skills for adulthood.
