Welcome to Grange Academy

Our school is a fabulous place where pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs flourish and discover their unique skills and talents.

At Grange we are committed to offering the best possible bespoke learning with an engaging curriculum in an outstanding environment. Our values of ‘belong, believe and achieve’ are embedded in the ethos of the school and we encourage every pupil to try new experiences and achieve more than they imagined possible. Our specialist and dedicated staff are focussed on empowering our pupils and we offer a range of experiences including Forest School, our Farm, Horticulture and a wide variety of other curriculum subjects.

We hold several awards, in recognition of the school’s priorities: the Eco Award, Arts Mark Gold and the UNICEF rights respecting Gold Award amongst others.

By working in close partnership with families and professional specialists we ensure that every pupil has the best experience possible. By the time they leave us, pupils have the independence, resilience, self-believe and aspiration to step confidently into post 16 education and be positive role models within the community.

Please do have a look at our website, especially the newsletters which will give you further insight into pupils’ views of life at Grange Academy.

Extra-curricular experiences also form an integral part of the school’s provision. Educational visits, visitors and key whole school events make learning meaningful and engaging for pupils, linked to real life experiences. We ensure that all pupils are exposed to arts and cultural experiences, and we timetable local, national and international key events into the school calendar, so that pupils get to engage in new experiences as they progress through school. Examples of this have been: theatre visits, local artists working with our pupils, dance classes, residential trips, attending a university, visits to a wide range of museums and places of religious and cultural interest.
