Welcome to Welshpool High School

Joining the Sixth Form at Welshpool High School has many benefits. If you have been with us in KS3 and KS4 the staff will already know you well and be able to work to your strengths. If you are new to our Sixth Form, I am sure you will settle in quickly as we have a welcoming and friendly community. We are an established local provider with a strong track record of good results for our students. You will also be able to make use of the dedicated Sixth Form common room and we also have a newly decorated study and computer area for sixth formers, where students attend independent study each week. You may also be eligible to apply for the weekly Educational Maintenance Allowance *EMA+ to help support you whilst you study.Ms M JonesHead of Sixth Form

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
At Welshpool High School we believe that all Sixth form students should have the opportunity to access a wide range of activities which enrich the academic curriculum and help to develop new skills and interests. Students are encouraged to participate in at least one of these activities in order to build a strong individual profile.

Duke of Edinburgh
A Duke of Edinburgh programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. The award is achieved by completing a personal programme of activities in four areas.
Peer Mentoring
Year 12 students are trained to provide guidance to younger students. Through this relationship peer mentors provide advice and support and serve as role models.
Sports Leadership Award
Organised by the PE Department this offers students experience in coaching and culminates in a nationally recognised award.
