Art and Design (3d Studies)
Course summary
A Level 3D Design course is designed to promote and encourage independent and creative thinking. It is a course suitable for individuals who are passionate about design and exploring the various strands within design. To support this approach, candidates will explore and produce practical and critical/contextual work in one or more areas including: Jewellery, Interior design, Product design, Environmental design and Architectural design. Candidates are encouraged to develop: • Intellectual, imaginative, creative and innovative qualities. • Investigative, analytical, experimental, practical, technical, expressive skills, aesthetic understanding and judgement. • Working independently: Independence of mind about developing personal ideas, showing refining and reviewing by developing own intentions and personal outcomes. • Passion and enthusiasm for visuals and 3D objects • CAD (Computer Aided Design) skills in Adobe and 2D Design • Driven to develop their drawing and making skills • Experiences to work in a range of styles and media, including traditional and new technologies. • Knowledge and understanding when creating, where necessary linking to contemporary and past societies and cultures. • Awareness of different roles, audiences and consumers of art and design practice.
