Introduction Further Mathematics is an AS/A-level qualification which both broadens and deepens the mathematics covered in AS/A-level Maths. Any student considering a degree in a maths rich subject such as engineering, sciences, computing, finance or economics should seriously consider Further Maths.
4 GSCE Grades B/5 or above, plus at least a Grade 4 in English Language and Mathematics. To study Further Mathematics you need to obtain at least a grade 8 at GCSE.
AS You will study two compulsory Pure Mathematics units. C1 and C2. You will then complete an Applied Mathematics unit either Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Maths. (The whole AS level will be assessed by examination). A2 You will study two more Pure Mathematics units, C3 and C4. (These will be assessed by examinations). You will then complete another of the Applied Mathematics units listed above. (This unit will be assessed by examination).
