Are you aged between 16-18 and looking to pursue a career in engineering? This full-time course, running 3 days a week, is a broad-based course that covers many areas within the large umbrella of Engineering. Depending on your chosen pathway ( Electrical or Mechanical), the units covered are, Engineering Principles, Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team, Engineering Product Design and Manufacture, Applied Commercial and Quality Principles in Engineering, Welding Technology, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Computer-Aided Design, Electronic Printed Circuit Board Design and Manufacture, Programmable Logic Controllers, Digital/Analogue Electronics, Microcontroller Systems for Engineers, Industrial Robotics, Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems, A Specialist Engineering Project, Maintenance of Mechanical Systems, and Mechanical Principles. This qualification forms the first year of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. It combines substantial theoretical learning alongside an opportunity to develop practical work-related skills. It provides a challenging but enjoyable experience for those with an interest in science and maths and satisfaction in practical applications and problem-solving.
