The course is split equally into three components philosophy, ethics and religion. The religion studied is Christianity. Each area is examined separately in three examinations. Students sit three exams at the end of the two year course each lasting 2 hours.
Students who have not achieved Grade 4 in English and Maths join the resit group which is taught on Wednesday afternoons as a part of the Curriculum Enrichment Programme. Resits are offered in both the November and Summer examination sessions. Students who wish to improve their English or Maths GCSE grades can also join the resit group. Upper grade 5 or above in either GCSE religious education or grade 5 or above in English.
