Welcome Message

With a long history of outstanding academic success you can be assured of the highest quality of teaching and guidance in the Sixth Form. Year on year our Sixth Form students achieve excellent results in public examinations taking them on to some of the most prestigious universities and courses in the world or most highly sought after jobs and school leaver programmes.

Outstanding success comes from more than just hard work and we are aware that at this most exciting time in a young adult’s life, it is important that each individual feels valued and is allowed to thrive and grow. The Fallibroome Academy Sixth Form offers an enviable package of excellent facilities, enrichment opportunities and Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance. We pride ourselves on our culture and ethos. A Level studies can be exacting and challenging and throughout the two years we provide support, care and guidance and an ‘open door’ policy to ensure that all our students feel looked after whilst also growing and developing as independent young people ready for the next stage in their lives.

I look forward to welcoming you to study with us or to respond to any questions and enquiries you may have.

We offer a choice of study programme for students:

  • three A levels,
  • three A levels and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
  • four A levels. Please note that students following four A levels will have grades 7, 8, 9 at GCSE.

All students complete a week of work experience in June of Y12. This is supplemented by an extensive careers programme. Some students use Curriculum Enrichment Time to volunteer in different settings and all students in Y12 are expected to volunteer for in-class support once a week. There are numerous other leadership opportunities for students.

There is an extensive pastoral programme which covers a variety of themes and is delivered via morning registration sessions, weekly assemblies and cross-curricular days. In addition, the Curriculum Enrichment Programme which takes place on Wednesday afternoons allows students to develop broader skills. Students are monitored during their study periods and encouraged to engage in a wider range of supercurricular activities.

Students who have not achieved Grade 4 in English and Maths join the resit group which is taught on Wednesday afternoons as a part of the Curriculum Enrichment Programme. Resits are offered in both the November and Summer examination sessions. Students who wish to improve their English or Maths GCSE grade can also join the resit group.
