Assessment

Students will be formally assessed by an end of course exam in their second year. This will represent 70% of their overall mark. Additionally, students will be assessed in one practical sport which represents 30% of their overall mark. There will also be continual assessment throughout the year relating to both exam and essay-based work. It must be noted that this is a highly theoretical course, and has minimal practical application other than final practical grading assessment. Students will also be expected to take more responsibility for their own learning if enrolled upon this course. This will mean independent study, research and observation and note-taking of various media clips. Lessons will revolve around discussion from independent work provided prior to each lesson starting.
