Course summary
The Extended Certificate is suitable for anyone with a keen interest in Health and Social Care and that is considering a career within this field. You will learn through practical assignments, tasks and written examinations. You will learn about human anatomy and physiology including malfunctions of our systems. Factors affecting human growth and development and the effects of ageing including dementia also investigating the roles and responsibilities of people who work in the health and social care sector, the organisations that offer various services and working with people with specific needs in the sector. Whilst studying meeting individual care and support needs you will develop skills of researching, role playing, and working in teams as you work on your assignments. The deadlines for the assignments will be planned over the year and it is important to adhere to the hand in dates, so good time management skills are essential.
