Course summary

OVERVIEW This new AAQ course is designed for students who have an interest in Health and Social Care, and in entering into a caring profession such as nursing, midwifery, social work or the probation service. The course content looks at many aspects of Health and Social Care, including human lifespan development, which explores the different stages of life. The course also looks at working in Health and Social Care where students will explore the roles and responsibilities of a variety of workers and organisations. In Health and Social Care students will be encourage to: · develop key knowledge, understanding and skills, relevant to the subject · think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically · develop valuable communication skills that are important in all aspects of further study and life · develop transferable learning and skills, such as evaluation, planning, presentation and research that can be applied to real-life contexts and work situations · develop independence and confidence in applying the knowledge and skills that are vital for progression to Higher Education and relevant to the Health and Social Care sector and more widely.
