A Level Music has three components: 1. Appraising Music 2. Performing Music 3. Composing Music
GCSE Music Grade 5 Grade 5 or above in at least one instrument.
Pupils will be taught using specialist Music equipment and software. Students will study key musical concepts, set works, compositional and performance skills. Students are assessed as follows: • Unit 1: Appraising (40%, 2 ½ hour examination) • Unit 2: Performing (35%, 10-minute recital) • Unit 3: Composition (25%, 2 compositions)
