Course summary

The A-Level Language courses offer you the opportunity to increase your knowledge of French, German, Spanish or Italian-speaking cultures as you study contemporary society and issues, artistic culture, and aspects of political life alongside an intensive grammar course to improve your language skills. You will study a film and a literary text in the language, as well as have the opportunity to undertake independent research about an area of particular interest to you in preparation for the speaking exam. Learning a language allows you to access many different cultures across the world and connect with people from those cultures, giving you the chance to see fascinating new things from a new perspective. Studying a Modern Foreign Language at A-Level demands a high level of commitment which is in turn rewarded by an increasing level of competence in your listening, reading, speaking & writing skills.
