Travel and Tourism
Course summary
Fancy a job in one of the biggest growth sectors of the economy and employment in the UK? Enjoy visiting new places and experiencing new adventures? Then a job in the visitor economy and studying Tourism at St. Julie’s is for you! The Tourism course is designed to give you an overview of all of the key elements of the tourist industry; including customer service, marketing, managing events, and planning tours, all with a focus on UK and international tourism. It is more practical than traditional A Levels, with 50% coursework where you have to run an event yourself. To support this, we get out of the classroom, with recent visits having been to Alton Towers and Cadbury World. Additionally, you will have access to any other Humanities International trips (currently planned for the USA, Iceland, and Poland) to experience tourism first-hand.
