Course summary

How will I learn? Class based discussion, debate and developing writing and exam skills. Support available to students both in and out of lessons. One-on-one tutorials. Out of school learning will included trips to Parliament and conferences. What will I learn? Component 1: 1.UK Politics, students w ill study: •Democracy and participation, political parties, electoral systems, voting behaviour and the media. 2.Core Political Ideas, students will study: ·Conservatism, Liberalism, Socialism. Component 2: 1.UK Government, students w ill study: •The Constitution, Parliament, Prime Minister and executive, relationships between the branches. 2.Non-core political ideas, students will study feminism. Component 3: 1. Comparative Politics, students w ill study: ·Sovereignty and globalisation, global governance: political and economic, global governance: human rights and environmental, power and developments, regionalism and the European Union, comparative theories.
