Course summary
Course Outline: The duration of the course is either one year to gain an AS award or two years for the full A level qualification. Skills: There will be opportunities for students to attend external lectures, workshops and conferences, often provided by the examining board for specific aspects of the course. Students develop skills in practical coursework as well as theoretical components which can open up a range of career opportunities including: biological research, medical, environmental, forensics, sports and science communication. The transferable skills you will learn, such as problem solving are also useful for many other areas, such as law. Future progressions from this course: Gaining a qualification in Biology at this level can lead into Higher Education in areas such as, Biological Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacology, Dentistry, Veterinary, Dietetics, Nursing, Forensics, Sports Science, Psychology, Teaching and more. Students of Biology have also progressed into other less related areas such as Business and Law
