Course summary
Students follow the OCR A Advanced GCE course studying 4 modules over the 2 year course. Students build upon the skills they have acquired at GCSE to address significant events in British history and around the world. The course enables students to foster their skills of source enquiry, creating and assessing lines of historical arguments and the critic of historical interpretation. This provides students with a respected qualification for their future careers and prepares them for study post KS5. The modules which students follow are: • Unit 1 – England 1485-1558: Early Tudors • Unit 2 –Democracy and Dictatorships in Germany 1919-1963 • Unit 3 – British Empire 1857-1965 • Unit 4 –Independent Study: Pupils research and write their own enquiry question
