Course summary
BTEC Acting or Dance are exciting and varied qualifications that will give you hands-on knowledge of what The Performing Arts business is like for actors and dancers and how you can succeed within it. Throughout the two year course, you will be given a variety of internally and externally assessed units that will enable you to develop your understanding of theatre and performance whilst also refining your skill as an actor or dancer. Year 1 units As some units are optional, teachers may wish to alter the curriculum plan to suit students who opt for the course. 1 Investigating Practitioner’s Work 2 Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance 3 Group Performance Workshop 4 Performing Arts in The Community Year 2 units As some units are optional, teachers may wish to alter the curriculum plan to suit students who opt for the course 1 – Individual Performance Commission 2 – Final Live Performance to an Audience 3 – Employment Opportunities in the Performing Arts 4 – Acting Styles 5 – Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street or Contemporary Dance Styles 6 – Improvisation
