Engineering is a vitally important subject and feature in every aspect of humanity. It is also challenging and exciting. Many of the skills that engineers hone and use open doors to professional advancement, personal growth, and other opportunities. Engineers learn how to analyse and solve problems, encourage innovative thinking, work in a team, communicate with others, meet deadlines and manage others. This course is for students who would like to learn the skills needed to secure a job with an engineering company in the future. Students will be studying a number of core and specialised units over the two years, covering and range of topic areas. The qualification will include a range of mandatory, optional and specialist pathway units; allowing you to really focus on what is right for your chosen career path. These units will be based around industry based problems and will feature theory and practical based activities. This is a vocational course where students will learn by doing.
Grade 4 or above in GCSE Design Technology.
Assessment will be through coursework and exams.
