Welcome Message
I feel incredibly privileged to lead a specialist Sixth Form team who work alongside our students with the shared interest of fulfilling both academic potential, and shaping the whole person in preparation for life after Sixth Form.
Our Sixth Form will bring additional benefits including developing you as an individual, nurturing your self-confidence and enhancing communication skills and your ability to learn from your own initiative. We aim to provide students with the opportunity to work in an atmosphere that is both adult and caring and to contribute to the organisation of the whole school, the wider community and its many activities on offer.
Continuing education beyond Year 11 is not just about which subjects you are going to take, or what qualifications you need, but how you want to spend the next two years of your life. We aim to provide a broad balance of challenging and successful experiences which prepare students well for their next vital step – be it Higher Education, training or employment.
We look forward to welcoming you in the future.
Mrs E Mayor
Head of Sixth Form

What I wish I knew when I started Sixth Form- organisation, dedication, and hard work from day 1 are crucial building blocks to success. In 10 years I want to be established in the banking sector and continuing to progress with my career- hopefully based in London!

In ten years, I want to be in a well-paid job that I enjoy. However, I have no clue as to what this is yet. I’m planning on applying to some summer internships over the next few years, in a range of different fields, to see which I enjoy the most.

When starting sixth form I was very narrow-minded career wise, thinking my love of science would be best placed in a career as a doctor or dentist, not too distant from my 10-yearold aspirations to become a vet. However, I soon realised that there is a much broader range of courses out there and the pressure I placed on myself to decide on a distinct career at the mere age of 17 was misguided. I found the best advice anyone could have given me was to simply choose a course you love; you do not need to decide your whole career path just yet, just the first stepping-stone on that path. So do not burden yourself with that sort of pressure just yet. Even now, about to embark upon a 4-year course at Oxford, I am very open minded with where I would like to see myself in 10 years’ time, from in the pharmaceutical industry to potentially a path in academia.
