Topics you will learn include: - Complex numbers - Matrices - Equations of motion - Probability distributions A mixture of pure and further pure topics must be completed. Year 12: Pure Maths: complex numbers, sequences, series, graphs, trigonometry Further Pure Maths: modular arithmetic, groups, recurrence relations, matrices Year 13: Pure Maths: calculus, vectors and matrices, proof Further Pure Maths: modular arithmetic, groups, recurrence relations, matrices
Students who wish to study three A levels must achieve a minimum of: Six GCSE’s at grade 6 or above; and GCSE Mathematics and GCSE English (Language or Literature) at grade 5 or above Students must achieve a grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics.
The A Level in Further Mathematics will be assessed by four examinations at the end of year 13.
