Course summary

If you are planning on a career in nursing, midwifery or social work, the Health and Social Care Level 3 Certificate will equip you with the range of skills and knowledge needed to work in the profession. As well as learning theory in the classroom you will also be expected to undertake a minimum of 175 hours of work experience giving you the opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a care setting. You will also be encouraged to take up voluntary or part time work in a related field which will be a valuable addition to your CV and demonstrate commitment to future employers or be of benefit if you wish to apply for a higher education course. This one-year course forms part of a two-year extended diploma and, after completion of the first year, you will be able to progress to the second year of the qualification in which you will study a further nine modules.
