Course summary

The BTEC Extended Certificate in Business provides students with knowledge and understanding of business activity and the environment in which it operates. The Certificate offers an introduction to a vocational sector through applied learning. For learners for whom an element of business would be complementary, the qualification supports progression to higher education when taken as part of a program of study that includes other vocational or general qualifications. The certificate is equivalent in size to 0.5 of an A Level. You will study 2 units, both mandatory, of which 1 is external. The Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects. The Extended Certificate is equivalent in size to one A level and consists of 4 units.
