Biology

Course summary

Biology involves the study of a wide range of exciting topics, ranging from the way the body works to the study of ecosystems and from microorganisms to mammoths. The course is designed to encourage students to develop an enthusiasm for biology, learn practical skills alongside an understanding of concepts and principles and build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills for studying biology in Higher Education. The course is delivered in laboratories where a range of practical activities take place and is taught by two subject specialist teachers. As part of the course students have entered national competitions and also visited Chester Zoo to enhance their learning.
