Course summary

The course is run over 2 years, each year 2 units are studied. At the end of the 2 years – the course is equivalent to 1 A Level. Year 12 : In year 12 – you will be required to carry out independent primary and secondary research of 2 different types of businesses and report on what you have found. The assignment you will be required to produce is split into 3 individual parts. You will be given the opportunity to visit at least 2 different businesses so you can collate the information required at this stage. For the rest of year 12, you will be preparing for a set controlled task, which will be done in May. This requires you to investigate and do research into a set business or idea and plan a suitable marketing campaign. You are then given time to do some planning in the form of notes and have 3 hours to write a report on what you have found out about this specific business/idea. Year 13 : In year 13, you will be learning all about personal and business finance through theory and you will be expected to apply this knowledge to an externally assessed exam.
