This course provides students with opportunities to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures using practical skills and knowledge of the work of other artists to assist and enhance their individual creations.
To enter any Level 3 course you will need 5 Grade 4 – 9s (A* - C) Grade 4 in GCSE Art, if the criteria is not met, students will need to demonstrate their skills to the department.
Assessment Objective 1 Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding. Assessment Objective 2 Experiment with and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining their ideas as their work develops. Assessment Objective 3 Record in visual and/or other forms ideas, observations and insights relevant to their intentions, demonstrating an ability to reflect on their work and progress. Assessment Objective 4 Present a personal, informed and meaningful response demonstrating critical understanding, realizing intentions and, where appropriate, making connections between visual, written, oral or other elements.
