Assessment

At the culmination of the two-year program, you will have two exams, which account for 80% of the overall marks. You will be provided with copies of all the texts in the exams, apart from Othello. Paper 1 examines the text you have studied for unit 1. There is also a question asking you to compare and contrast 2 poems you have not seen before. Paper 2 asks you to write about the texts studied for unit 2. You will also be asked to analyse a passage from a post-1945 prose text (novel) which you will not have studied. The remaining 20% will be assessed through a coursework essay of 2500 words covering the texts studied for unit 3.
