Assessment

Our photography course begins with an introduction to the key skills and processes students will need for the rest of the course, this leads directly on to an initial project in which students will be given a theme to build theirs from. The focus of this project is to extend their skills and knowledge gained from the initial part of the course. Once this part of the course is complete students will formally begin component one, which will have them building a research project based on a theme of their choosing. This component is worth 60% of the total mark for the course. Component two is an externally set title by AQA in which students have a selected period of time to develop and explore ideas, media and processes. This culminates in a timed exam (15 hrs) where students will produce a final outcome to resolve their projects. Component two is worth the remaining 40% of the total mark.
