Spanish
Course summary
A course in one of the Modern Languages prepares students for the world of work and travel, both linguistically and by providing them with the many skills inherent in any ‘Arts’ A Levels, such as essay and report writing. There are opportunities to go abroad during the two-year course. Universities and Employers welcome a language qualification combined with anything from Accountancy and Law, to Mathematics or the Sciences, as Modern Languages are seen as a ‘facilitating’ subject. Course content: • Social issues and trends • Political and artistic culture • Grammar • Literary texts and films Students will study either one text and one film, or two texts from a prescribed list and they must also complete an individual research project, which relates to a country or countries where Spanish is spoken.
