Paper 1 – 40%: Literary Genres (Tragedy genre) 2 hour and 30 minutes Closed-book exam Analysis of the tragedy genre. Three texts studied: - One Shakespearean play - A drama text - Another text of your teacher’s choice (one will be pre-1990). Paper 2 – 40%: Texts and Genres (Elements of political and social protest writing) 3 hours Open book Three texts studied - One post-2000 prose text - One poetry text - Another text of your teacher’s choice (one will be pre-1900). Non- exam assessment: Theory and Independence - (20%) Two texts studied - One poetry - One prose. Both essays will be between 1250- 1500 words long Each will analyse texts under separate literary from the AQA Critical Anthology
