Course summary

The BTEC level 3 extended certificate in health and social care is undertaken over two years. Students can be awarded Distinction *, Distinction, Merit or pass grades. There are four units to complete two mandatory and two optional units: Year 1 Unit: Human Lifespan and development (Mandatory and externally assessed 1.5 hr paper based exam) Unit 5: Meeting individual care and support needs (Internally assessed by a series of tasks set by your tutor) Year 2 Unit 2: Working in Health and Social Care (Mandatory and externally assessed 1.5 hr paper based exam) Unit 14: Physiological disorders and their care This course is ideal for anyone interested in nursing, social work, psychology, sociology, working in early years or with the elderly. Study at level 2 is not mandatory. This course gives real insight into the world of health and social care.
