Course summary

Psychology is the scientific study of how people behave and how their minds work. It is concerned with understanding the experience and behavior of humans. It is classed as a science. A-Level Psychology is an excellent introduction to the study of human behavior and can lead to a range of interesting careers and courses of further study including cognitive neuroscience, and educational and clinical psychology. The course will focus on: • Developing a wide range of psychological knowledge across a range of topics, such as social influence, cognition, and psychopathology. • Developing an appreciation of science investigation across the course by critically evaluating the strengths and limitations of various research methodologies. • The development of knowledge and understanding of psychological concepts, theories, and studies. • Developing skills in analysis, evaluation, and application of psychological theories, studies, and concepts. • Demonstrating an appreciation of ethical issues associated with all areas of psychological research.
