Course summary
This course is aimed at students who are interested in working in the health, social, and early years professions. It is a broad, flexible qualification that will provide a basis for further study in higher education, training, or employment. Unit 1 – Human Lifespan Development - You will cover physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development across the human lifespan, and the factors affecting development and the effects of aging. Unit 2 – Working in Health and Social Care - You will explore what it is like to work in the health and social care sector, including the roles and responsibilities of workers and organizations. Unit 5 – Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs - You will focus on the principles and practicalities that underpin meeting individuals’ care and support needs, which are the foundation of all the care disciplines. Unit 14 – Physiological Disorders and their Care - You will explore types of physiological disorders, the procedures for diagnosis, and the development of a treatment plan and provision of support for service users.
