Course summary
The content of this qualification has been created to support student’s progression to higher education. The qualification gives students the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the sport and exercise science sector to prepare them for further study or training at a higher level. With a mix of theory sessions and practical sessions for applied learning, the course aims to develop a sound and in-depth understanding, knowledge and skillset that underpin the science of sport and what drives sporting success. The Level 3 Extended Diploma is made up of a range of compulsory units, which include: - Functional Anatomy (E) - Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology (E) - Applied Research Methods in Sport and Exercise Science - Coaching for Performance and Fitness - Physical Activity for Individual and Group-based Exercise - Sports Massage (Year 2) - Nutrition for Sport and Exercise Performance (Year 2) - Biomechanics in Sport and Exercise Science (Year 2)
