Course summary
BTEC Health and Social Care Level 3 requires you to have an interest in the Health and Social care sectors, an ability to communicate ideas effectively, an ability to organise yourself and your work to meet regular deadlines and an ability to work independently to research and investigate topics. Diploma in Health and Social Care (Double Award equivalent to 2 A Levels). This comprises eight units of work. Two written exams focussing on Human Lifespan Development and Working in Health and Social Care. In addition to this there is one examination based on pre-release materials from the examination board. The focus of this examination is Current Research in Health and Social Care and students are able to take research materials into the examination with them. There are a further 5 coursework units to complete during the course. One with a focus on Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs and the second on Physiological Disorders. The next focus will be Principles of Safe Practice in Health and Social Care. The remaining two areas of study are Promoting Public Health and Nutritional Health.
