Art and Design (Fine Art)

Course summary

Fine Art offers creative thinkers the opportunity to give visual form to individual thoughts, feelings and ideas through the disciplines of drawing, painting, printmaking and mixed media. The course aims to provide you with the necessary skills to enable you to work through the creative process developing personal perceptions of given subject matter and put your own individual stamp on it. What is special about this course a Fine Art enables students to build on previously learned skills and develop more refined practical art skills whilst providing opportunities to thrive creatively in an environment where they feel comfortable, motivated and inspired. Post 16 students have a separate area to work in, which is available during study periods, break, lunchtime and after college. Fine Art naturally appeals to students who enjoy a visual learning style but opportunities are given for students to learn in other ways such as verbal, logical, intrapersonal and interpersonal.
