Course summary
This course is for students who want to continue studying Photography after GCSE. You'll already be familiar with some of the skills and techniques, but the A level will give you the chance to study in more depth and develop your own particular artistic strengths and interests. This hands-on practical photography course will give you the skills and knowledge to gain work in the photographic industries. On this course you will be given the opportunities to undertake real 'live' photography briefs for internal and external clients, providing you with experience of working in the photographic genres, including fashion photography, portrait photography, landscape photography and advertising photography. You will also learn about other photographers. As well as developing your essential practical skills, the course will enable you to learn more about photography. The course will introduce and develop skills and knowledge in using digital and film SLRs, pinhole cameras and darkroom techniques, as well as introducing and developing an understanding of using lighting and studio equipments. You learn important skills that will equip and prepare you for a career within the or wider creative industries such as managing your time, professional development and working in a team. You will learn about relevant and current skills and practices, which will enable you to start generating your own income as a photographer. This course is designed for individuals with a genuine interest in developing and widening their interest in photography using new and traditional techniques to produce innovative and creative outcomes.
