Assessment

You will be assessed in a variety of ways. The class work and homework you produce will form the basis of all assessments. There will also be a range of ongoing formative assessments that will take place in class. These will vary from quizzes and knowledge tests to shorter written responses to specific aspects of the texts studied. There will also be more detailed and extended essays to assess your knowledge and understanding. Alongside these, there will be school-based ‘Mock exams.’ External examinations: Paper 1- Love Through the Ages (3 questions in 3 hours) worth 40% of the A Level. Paper 2 - Texts in Shared Contexts (3 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes) worth 40% of the A Level. Non-Exam Assessment (NEA) - Independent Critical Study - worth 20% of the A Level.
