Course summary

Further Mathematics will allow you to study more challenging mathematical ideas in preparation for Higher Education. It is particularly relevant if you wish to progress onto degree courses in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computing, Economics, Data Science, Actuarial studies, and Operations Research. It can also be studied as preparation for jobs where high-powered Maths is applied, or simply for the pleasure of the subject. You will extend both your Pure Mathematics and your Applications beyond the scope of A-level Maths, and you should expect to be challenged, particularly in terms of logic and mathematical problem-solving. A level of Further Mathematics is a stand-alone qualification and a full A level. A level of Mathematics must also be taken along with this course.
