Course summary

This exciting course is very popular and places fill up fast. You will cover a very wide range of art and design subjects and you will be able to gain good skills across a broad range of subjects in year one. You will have opportunities to work in all the main disciplines from observational drawing to fine art. We will cover painting, designing, sculpture, printmaking, craftwork, public art, photography, 3D, digital art, and much more. Drawing has fundamental importance in the course and usually, the first assignment focuses on developing and extending your drawing ability. This then equips you with the skill and confidence to use drawing as an effective visual tool throughout the rest of your course and beyond into your creative career. We have a range of specialist studios and equipment to support your creative journey at Chichester College and we use our strong links with local galleries and universities to help you progress after college. Many assignments are 'live' which means you will be producing artwork or designs for a real purpose and usually for a client. This will give you valuable industry experience which is vital for your CV, your future progression, for references for university, and into the world of work as a creative.
