Health Studies

Course summary

This course encompasses a wide range of issues and topics linked to Health and Social Care. Students get the chance to explore areas of the subject they did not realize existed such as Nutrition, Health Promotion, and Public Health. The course is designed to be adaptable to the requirements of the vocational sector as well as the student's interests and aspirations. We try to include as many practical elements as possible throughout the course. Students will not only complete their coursework but will get the opportunity to gain their First Aid Certificate and complete an extensive period of work experience interacting with a range of service users in different care settings. Guest speakers also feature during lessons so that students can see how their knowledge can be applied and built upon in a ‘real world’ context.
