Course summary
Ideal for those who want to pursue a rewarding career where they will be caring for and supporting vulnerable individuals in a wide range of settings. Units include: • building positive relationships • equality, diversity and rights • health, safety and security in health and social care • safeguarding • anatomy and physiology • supporting people with learning disabilities • promoting positive behaviour (The units you cover will vary depending on the size of the qualification you study). This is a qualification which includes both health and social care-based units to give you a broad subject knowledge. You will be assessed through a range of methods, including exams, essays, presentations, role play and practical tasks. There is a wide range of enrichment opportunities, such as completing a first aid course, employability workshops, sessions with guest speakers, working with Southampton Hospital education centre and trips to relevant settings to support your studies.
