Studying this qualification will enable learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of scientific principles, as well as the scientific practical skills needed for a career in the science field. Applied science offers learners an opportunity to develop transferable skills such as problem-solving, research and communication as part of their applied learning The BTEC Extended Certificate in Applied Science qualification opens up the possibility of studying a range of degree courses at university including biological sciences, biomedical science, nursing, midwifery and forensic science to name a few. It will also give learners the opportunity to undertake a science based apprenticeship within the science field.
